This guide explains what works on iOS in 2026, how to set up Stremio in Safari in about two minutes, and how to avoid the fake apps in the App Store.

What Is Stremio?

Stremio is a free media center app. It organizes movies, series, channels and live TV from different sources into one library, tracks what you have watched and syncs your library across devices through a free Stremio account.

Stremio itself does not host video. Content comes from add-ons, which are small extensions that connect the app to a source. Some add-ons are official and link to legal services. Others are made by third parties.

Is There a Stremio App for iPhone in 2026?

It has been a bumpy road. Here is the timeline from Stremio’s own blog:

• August 2025: Stremio released Stremio Lite on the App Store, a limited version built to meet Apple’s rules.
• February 2026: Stremio published a full-featured version as a sideloadable IPA file while it waited on Apple’s decision about bringing Stremio Lite back to the App Store.
• Today: Stremio’s official downloads page lists two options for iPhone and iPad: the web version in your browser, and the full app through AltStore PAL for users in Europe, Brazil and Japan. It does not list an App Store download.

Method 1: Use Stremio Web in Safari (Recommended)

1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Go to web.stremio.com.
3. Tap Log in and sign in with your Stremio account, or create a free one.
4. Your library and add-ons sync automatically from your other devices.
5. Choose a title, pick a source and start watching.

Always type the address yourself or use the link on Stremio’s official downloads page. Look-alike sites exist.

Add Stremio to Your Home Screen

You can make Stremio Web open full screen from an icon, just like an app:

1. With web.stremio.com open in Safari, tap the Share button.

4. Play your title again. It will open in the external player.
