IPTV Smarters Pro is one of the best-known IPTV players, available on phones, tablets, Android TV and Apple devices. It does not come with any channels. You add your own subscription, and it plays it. This guide shows you how to get the official app and add Area 51 IPTV with Xtream Codes or an M3U link in a few minutes.
The short version
- The official app is now called Smarters Pro, published by Tech Smarters Private Limited. Its official website is smarterspro.com.
- Many look-alike apps use “Smarters” in their name. Install only the version linked from the official website.
- Xtream Codes is the easiest login: server URL, username and password from your welcome email.
- M3U works too: you paste one playlist link.
- You need an active Area 51 IPTV plan or a free 24-hour trial.
What Is IPTV Smarters Pro?
IPTV Smarters Pro is a media player for live TV, movies and series. For years it was known as IPTV Smarters Pro. Today the developer publishes it in the app stores under the shorter name Smarters Pro.
Two things are important to understand:
- It is a player only. The developer’s store listing states that the app does not provide, host or sell any channels or streaming services. Your channels come from your Area 51 IPTV subscription.
- It is free to download. You do not pay the app maker for your channels, and you never need to buy a “Smarters subscription”.
How to Spot the Official App
The Smarters name is popular, so app stores are full of copies with similar names and icons. The original app was also removed from Google Play in the past after complaints, as TorrentFreak reported, which left many people installing look-alikes. Check these three things before you install:

Step 1: Install Smarters Pro on Your Device
Android phones and tablets
- Open the Smarters Pro – Mobile page on Google Play.
- Check that the developer is Tech Smarters Private Limited.
- Tap Install, then Open.
Android TV and Google TV
- Open the Google Play Store on your TV and search for Smarters Pro.
- Choose the app from Tech Smarters Private Limited. You can also install it from the Smarters Pro TV page on Google Play in a web browser and send it to your TV.
- Select Install, then Open.
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
- Open the Smarters Pro page on the App Store, or search for Smarters Pro on your device.
- Check that the seller is Tech Smarters Private Limited.
- Tap Get and open the app.
App Store availability can change by country. If the page says the app is not available in your region, do not install a look-alike. Message our team and we will suggest another player for your Apple device.
Windows, Mac and Smart TVs
Desktop versions and Smart TV apps are listed in the downloads section of the official Smarters Pro website. Always download them from there rather than from a file-sharing site.
Firestick and Fire TV
Smarters Pro is not in the Amazon Appstore, and the official website does not offer a Fire TV download through a store. APK files from unofficial websites can be modified, so we do not recommend them. On a Firestick, use the Area 51 IPTV app instead (see how to install the Area 51 IPTV APK), or a player such as TiviMate.
Step 2: Find Your Area 51 IPTV Login Details
Open the welcome email you received when your trial or plan was activated. You will need one of these:

Method 1: Log In with Xtream Codes (Recommended)
- Open Smarters Pro and accept the terms if the app asks.
- On the login screen, choose Login with Xtream Codes API. If you already have a profile, open the user list and choose Add New User first.
- In the name field, type any name you like, for example Area 51 IPTV.
- Enter your username and password. They are case sensitive.
- Enter the server URL exactly as it appears in your email, including http:// and the port number if there is one.
- Select Add User and wait while the app loads your live TV, movies and series.
When it finishes, you will see the main menu with Live TV, Movies and Series. The TV guide loads automatically with Xtream Codes.
Method 2: Log In with an M3U Link
- On the login screen, choose Load Your Playlist or File/URL.
- Type a playlist name, for example Area 51 IPTV.
- Choose M3U URL as the playlist type.
- Paste your M3U link from the email into the URL field.
- Select Add User and wait for the channels to load.
Tip: M3U links are long. Copy and paste the link instead of typing it, and check that no space was added at the start or the end.
Menu names can differ slightly between versions and devices, but the order of the steps is the same.
Tips for a Better Experience
- Add favorites. Long-press a channel (or hold the select button on a remote) and add it to Favorites to build your own short list.
- Refresh after changes. If channels or the guide look out of date, use the refresh option in the app or sign out and back in.
- Change the player if a channel stutters. In the settings, you can switch the video player. Try another option if one channel plays badly.

Troubleshooting
